Holistic Muscle Therapy · Alexander Wade · Laguna Hills

Pain is local. The pattern is global.

Your body is not a collection of separate parts. It is a living network — constantly adapting to breathing, gravity, movement, and experience. Every session starts with a baseline and ends with a retest, so you see what changed — not just how it felt.

Why this practice exists

Most care treats the spot that hurts. This practice tests the system that made it hurt.

A knee gets rubbed, a neck gets cracked — and the walking, breathing, and loading pattern that created the problem walks out the door untouched. Here the order of operations is different: assess the whole system first, treat what the assessment finds, and retest immediately.

The body gives you information before it gives you symptoms.

01 · Nature repeats its patterns

The canopy above. The roots below. The same shape.

Rivers, lightning, lungs, nerves — nature builds with one branching pattern, over and over. Your body is built the same way, and it adapts the same way: everywhere at once.

02 · Pathways shape what can move

Everything your body does travels a route.

Air, blood, nerve signal, force — all of it moves through pathways. When one pathway is compressed, everything downstream moves differently.

03 · Nothing operates in isolation

Touch one strand and the whole web answers.

A foot changes a knee. A ribcage changes a shoulder. Your body pulls as one connected fabric — which is why the whole system is what gets assessed, not just the place that complains.

04 · Movement is not linear

Healthy motion curves, spirals, and returns.

Force moves through the body in arcs — the way a fern unfurls, not the way a ruler lies. Assessment looks for where your spirals have gone flat, and treatment works to give them back.

The method

Assess → Treat → Reassess.

One loop, every visit. The test decides the treatment, and the retest decides the next step.

  1. Assess.

History, goals, and the relationships most relevant to your movement problem — measured, not guessed.

  2. Treat.

One or more precise inputs chosen for the pattern the assessment found. Lighter goes deeper — force is never the point; change is.

  3. Reassess.

The original test, repeated on the spot. Better, unchanged, or worse is information — and it decides the next step.

Documented outcomes

Measured before. Measured after.

Anonymized examples from real documented cases — individual outcomes, never promises.

Twenty-year limp

A twenty-year limp became a solvable pattern.

10°→90°Straight-leg raise

Straight-leg raise reached approximately 90°. Leg motion improved, reciprocal arm swing returned, and this client transitioned out of long-term orthotics. The limp was no longer present in this documented case.

Roughly twenty hours of care

Walking at age 87

Capacity rebuilt one measurable step at a time.

Painful→Pain-freeWalking

More upright posture, reciprocal gait and arm swing, and pain-free walking during the documented plan.

Ten visits across twelve weeks

Shoulder rotation

A guarded shoulder, unlocked through the ribcage.

Guarded→RestoredExternal rotation

Rotation returned through ribcage, subscapularis, and scapular work — retested against the same baseline each visit in this documented case.

Four hours of care across eight days

Neck pain since 2009

A seventeen-year pattern, retested to quiet.

Since 2009→Not presentReported neck pain

Long-standing neck pain was no longer present at retest during the documented plan — addressed through the breathing, ribcage, and neck relationship rather than the neck alone.

Under ten hours across six weeks

These are individual documented examples. Results vary, and a similar outcome cannot be guaranteed.

★★★★★

I had a wonderful experience with Alex! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was calming and welcoming. Alex is incredibly knowledgeable and it really shows. I came in with ongoing back and foot pain that had been bothering me for a while, and I'm happy to say it has improved significantly! I left feeling so much better — more relaxed, refreshed, and recharged. Highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for a truly professional and effective massage!

★★★★★

Even with an online session, the change was truly eye-opening. It was worth every single minute. Alex was able to give guided instructions and insights about my circumstance and proved it with this session. My posture in the same stance, from just doing the 90/90 position and breath work, the change and feeling thereafter was very obvious. I recommend trying out Holistic Muscle Therapy 110%.

★★★★★

Working with Alex has been one of the best decisions I've made for my health. I originally booked because I'd been struggling with chronic hip pain, back pain, and issues related to kyphosis for years. After just a few sessions, the difference was remarkable. My pain levels decreased, my mobility improved, and I could feel my posture shifting back into a more natural, aligned state. He doesn't just treat symptoms, he works with the entire system. Absolutely 5 stars.

Your first visit

Come as you are — ideally, cold.

The visit works best when your body shows up the way it usually is. One appointment establishes the baseline, applies a precise input, and retests.

  1. 01

    Arrive cold

When possible, don't stretch, warm up, train, or aggressively self-treat right before the visit — the baseline should be your real starting point.

  2. 02

    Bring your shoes

Wear comfortable clothing and bring the shoes you use most for walking, work, and training. Arrive fragrance-free.

  3. 03

    Test, treat, retest

Establish the baseline, apply a precise input, then retest — and decide together whether the next step is another session, a home strategy, a structured plan, or a referral.

Common questions

Answers before you ask.

Something else on your mind? Ask a question — or text (949) 424-6384.

Is this massage?

It may include hands-on manual therapy, but it is not a relaxation massage or a routine full-body sequence. The session is organized around assessment, a specific goal, and an objective retest.

Do I need a diagnosis or referral?

No. You can begin with a movement problem, a recurring symptom, or a performance limitation. Holistic Muscle Therapy does not diagnose medical conditions and will recommend appropriate medical evaluation or referral when indicated.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear clothing that lets you move comfortably. Bring the shoes you walk, work, or train in most often, plus relevant imaging or provider notes when useful. Please arrive fragrance-free.

Why should I avoid warming up before the visit?

The clearest baseline is how you present in normal life. Stretching, training, or aggressively self-treating right before the session can temporarily change the very pattern we are trying to understand.

How much does it cost?

A New Client Assessment & Treatment is 90 minutes and $295. Follow-up options are a Focused Follow-Up (60 minutes, $175), an Extended Follow-Up (90 minutes, $250), and a Comprehensive Session (120 minutes, $350). Longer plans are recommended only after an initial assessment establishes how complex the problem actually is.

Do you accept insurance?

Holistic Muscle Therapy does not bill insurance directly. HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Itemized documentation may be available, but reimbursement depends on your plan and is not guaranteed.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Virtual work is best for guided self-assessment, movement coaching, breathing and positioning strategies, programming, and retesting. Hands-on treatment is available only in person.

What happens if I'm not improving?

A lack of change is useful information. The plan is adjusted, simplified, or stopped. When another provider, diagnostic workup, or different discipline is more appropriate, you will be referred — not kept in an unproductive treatment cycle.
